Long ago, in the land of Canadia, young Gavin Gunhold wrote a story for an english class taught by his phys-ed teacher. And lo and behold, it got published, had six sequels, and pretty much launched little Gordon's writing career. A jillion years later, three TV movies were born, more or less based on three of the original Bruno and Boots books. The movies are... kind of awful. There's plenty of fun shenanigans, the Fish and Scrimmage, but then they had to go and slap on a "lesson." Finally watched "Go Jump in the Pool." 🎥 The narrated introduction was was typical TV movie cheese, complete with unnecessary freeze-frame scrapbook graphics. The soundtrack's cheap, the school sign looked like some intern got 'fancy' with Microsoft word, the green-screen didn't fool anyone, that gay joke was less than subtle, and the overall world was more sunshine bubble-gum than a High School Musical. The sets were excellent, I enjoyed the updated story and I absolutely love the actors. 5-star performances.
